The men and women serving as fire fighters and EMTs at Logan Aluminum regularly put their lives on the line to protect and serve our team members and community.

We are proud to have such an incredible group of individuals at Logan!

Firefighter of the Year: Ricky Hankins Jr.

This award is given each year to a firefighter that is selected by their fellow firefighters for the selfless dedication and effort they put into the department. It also requires 100% attendance to the training for the entire year.

Ricky Hankins Jr. has been an active firefighter with Logan since early 2021. In his short time, he has made several accomplishments. He is a certified Haz Mat Tech and has recently been to Texas A&M for industrial fire and confined space training. Ricky is currently working towards his certification with the state as a firefighter.

EMT of the Year: Lori Wooldridge

The EMT of the year award is presented to an individual that sets the example for all EMT’s to follow. This individual is judged on attendance in training, and also their dedication and compassion to the Logan Aluminum Ambulance service.

This year’s EMT of the year has set the standard for all to follow. Fire Chief Allen said, “She has been very vigorous in attending training, always asks questions, and is always eager to learn. She’s a go-getter and will be a great leader here at Logan Aluminum”.

Adam Stovall has been on the LAFD since 2014. He is a certified firefighter, Haz Mat Tech certified, and has been to several specialty trainings to increase his technical skill level.

“Adam always offers help when he knows I need it and is always willing and ready when I ask”, Fire Chief Allen said. “He is a great leader and is promotion to the rank of Lieutenant is well deserved.”

Rocky L. Rager Dedication Award: Todd Ford

This award is presented each year to a firefighter based on their continuous commitment and dedication to duty and the LAFD. This year’s recipient was Todd Ford, an active member of the LAFD since 1995.

Fire Chief Allen said, “When you read the words “continuous commitment”, that describes Todd”. Todd is a State Certified IFSAC Firefighter 1 and 2, Certified Fire instructor, EMT Instructor, and a Haz Mat Technician. He has attended Texas A&M Fire school, along with other fire Schools.

Passion and Pride Award: Jason Hendley

Unlike the other awards given annually, the Passion and Pride Award is given when there is a need for recognition of a team member that has gone above and beyond.

Captain Jason Hendley has been on the LAFD since 1995. His growth, leadership, and willingness to go the extra mile led to his selection for this award.

“Jason has become a strong leader within our department and it has not gone unnoticed,” Fire Chief Allen said. “He always shows up to do what needs to be done without having to be asked. He’s been a blessing to me on many occasions.”
