On June 12, Max Jones from Auburn, Kentucky and Ethan Haley from Lewisburg, Kentucky – recent graduates from Logan County Career and Technical School (Logan CTC) -participated in a signing day event to accept scholarships from Logan Aluminum to earn the Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) Associate’s degrees from Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC). The recent graduates will also be working for Fluor and receive paid on-the-job training at a local project site for the next three years.
“It’s a pleasure for Logan Aluminum to offer these scholarships to our amazing community who has supported our business and growth for over 30 years,” said David Fusting, human resources manager for Logan Aluminum. “Cultivating the next generation of manufacturing professionals is not only important for our region and the industry, but also for Logan who for over 30 years has employed generations of local families. This scholarship will add to our legacy for the people in our community and bring hope in the midst of challenging times for us all.”
The Careers Forward program is a partnership between Logan Aluminum and Fluor, an international engineering and construction firm. Participants will apply these competencies at the Logan Aluminum site in Russellville, Kentucky. This training will teach the participants to become competitive candidates in the industrial maintenance and manufacturing field.
