Russellville, KY – (September 9, 2024) – Logan Aluminum Inc., a leading producer of aluminum products, today announces the appointment of Steven Clarke as President/CEO and Jason Goodman as Plant Manager, effective October 1, 2024. Clarke and Goodman follow current President/CEO Mike Buckentin and Plant Manager Paul Banks who both have retirement plans.

Steven Clarke will oversee all aspects of Logan Aluminum’s market leading business as the largest single can sheet facility in North America. The fully integrated aluminum mill employs over 1400 team members who are business partners achieving the plant’s targets for safety, quality, productivity, cost and culture. Clarke aims to keep Logan Aluminum at the front of the industry, building on the legacy of its first 40 years of history. “We all play a role in laying the path for success for the next 40 years,” shared Clarke.

Clarke joined Logan Aluminum in July 2024 as president designate. Prior to Logan, he spent the majority of his 30-year career at Novelis, Inc., one of the joint venture owners of Logan Aluminum. Clarke most recently served as the Novelis Vice President of Operations Excellence, based in Zurich, Switzerland. During his time at Novelis, Clarke held positions of increasing responsibility across supply chain, safety, engineering and general management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Wolverhampton (UK) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick (UK).

As Plant Manager, Jason Goodman will lead Logan Aluminum’s operational business units. “Relying on our foundational principles which encourage ownership, participation, and accountability, our team members are driving the improvements that will sustain Logan Aluminum’s position as an industry leader,” said Goodman.

Goodman credits his successful career at Logan Aluminum to the Company’s culture of developing and promoting from within. Goodman is carrying on the legacy of his father who also had a long career at Logan. Goodman started as an Operating Technician in the Hot Mill. Through an on-the job technical training program, Goodman became a Maintenance Technician. He later obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from Western Kentucky University while working fulltime. Goodman served in both operational and engineering leader roles before being promoted to Business Unit Manager. Most recently, Goodman has been the Manufacturing Manager for Cold Mills and Finishing.

Clarke and Goodman are replacing current Logan Aluminum President and CEO, Mike Buckentin, and current Plant Manager Paul Banks. Buckentin became Logan Aluminum’s President in 2017, following an expansive career in top executive positions within the metals industry. “It’s impossible to spend time at Logan and not feel good, not just about making aluminum, but about life. The devotion of our team members is unmatched,” reflected Buckentin.

Banks’ entire 35-year career has been devoted to Logan Aluminum and Novelis. Like Goodman, he started as an operator and rose to Plant Manager positions at the Novelis green field start-up in Guthrie, KY and since 2021, the Plant Manager at Logan Aluminum. “As I transition into retirement, I am optimistic about the future of our plant under its new leadership. Logan Aluminum has a proud legacy of excellence, fostered by teamwork and innovation. I am confident that Logan will continue to thrive, providing top-tier, sustainable aluminum to our valued customers. With our dedicated, high-performing teams and leadership, I know Logan is well-positioned to continue its history of success.”
